Beaches
Praa Sands Beach.
On the south coast of Cornwall can be found this mile long beach which is made up of golden sand and outcrops of rock. The beach is divided into two areas, the eastern and western ends. The eastern end consists of mainly rocks and rock pools. The western end is more sandy and is where the amenities can be found. These consist of café/restaurant, toilets, shops, a camp site and even a pub.
Surfing
Surfing at Newquay
Newquay is renowned for its surfing; people come from all over the world for the competitions and for special organised events. The fabulous beaches provide a safe and picturesque setting for many people. Newquay boasts fabulous beaches and a lively town with great restaurants and bars. There are lots of quaint gift shops as well as speciality shops selling surfing equipment. Nice restaurants and pubs, little gift shops mainly selling surfing equipment.
Zoo’s
Newquay Zoo
Set in luscious sub-tropical lakeside gardens Newquay Zoo is host to over 130 different species, including African lions, zebra, lemurs, wilder beast, pythons and many more. Newquay Zoo provides fascinating interactive talks with the keepers, as well as exciting activity trails, face painting, village farm and children’s play area with a dragon maze and Tarzan trail. There are fantastic exhibits and you can also take the opportunity to be a Junior Keeper for the day. Set in beautiful gardens with so much to do and see there is something at Newquay Zoo for everyone to enjoy.
